Health Safety and Environmental Awareness and L1 qualification

The Health Safety and Environmental Awareness course tackle some of the health and safety issues in the industry. With accident and fatality rates falling in the industry we are clearly heading in the right direction. However, there is still work to do. In addition to the implementation of health and safety legislation, health and safety training is crucial in the effort to increase safety in the industry. To gain a CSCS card, you need to undertake three things

  1. Attend a health, safety and environmental awareness course and pass a level 1 H & S test
  2. Pass the CITB touch screen test
  3. Apply for a new card.

FaCT has four options to select, to make it as easy as possible for you. .

  1. All in 1 – Most Popular – this is where FaCT organises everything for you, the training, testing and card application. All you have to do is attend the training and testing, FaCT will organise all the rest for you.
  2. Course and Card – FaCT will organise the training and card application for you, but you will have to organise your touch screen test yourself locally 
  3. Course and Test – FaCT organise the training and testing for you, you will then apply for the card yourself. 
  4. Course only – when FaCT provides you with the training course and you then will organise the testing and the card application. 

LIVE ONLINE LEARNING

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and to meet social distancing requirements FaCT is now able to offer this course via our LIVE ONLINE LEARNING platform. You can access the course via the internet at home or office, using a computer or laptop, All you need is an internet connection and a quiet place to sit.

Our experienced trainer will deliver the course, with the support of presentations, images and videos. He will answer questions and explain the details of the topic.

Who is the Health Safety and Environmental Awareness? And how long is the course?

The Health Safety and Environmental Awareness course is for anyone who is looking to join the construction industry or renew their skills card. Furthermore, it is for anyone who is new to the industry or anyone who is currently working in the industry.   It is the approved course to renew green and blue FISS CSCS cards and to enable you to apply for a CSCS labourers card.

The course last for between 5 and 6 hours.

What is the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety Qualification?

FaCT includes the Level 1 Award for those who require this to gain a Green CSCS or FISS CSCS card for the first time. At the end of the training, you are able to sit the assessment to gain this qualification. This qualification is a mandatory requirement for anyone wishing to gain a Green card.


What are the benefits of taking the Health Safety and Environmental Awareness course?

Firstly, the course will provide you with an understanding of health and safety regulations and how to comply with them. Secondly, you will be able to identify and avoid hazards that you may be exposed to whilst at work. You will also be able to understand how the work that you do impacts the environment. Furthermore, the course is a requirement for the CSCS & FISS CSCS card applications.

The course will also benefit employers. Employers will ensure that their employees, practices and procedures are complying with health and safety legislation. Furthermore, employees will understand how to work safely. This will reduce the risk of accident and injury in a dangerous industry.

How long is the Health Safety and Environmental Awareness certification valid for?

The Health Safety and Awareness certification lasts for five years. However, for a CSCS 0r FISS CSCS card application, it must have been completed within two years.
