On the 1st August the funding rules change and some of the training currently funded will no longer be supported. So now is the time to act.
From the 1st August 2013, the current funding for Level 3 qualifications will stop and be replaced by student loans.
Many sites are now requiring a Gold card holder to be on site at all times. To be able to gain a Gold card, they must complete a Level 3 diploma in Fence Supervision and attend a supervisors health and safety course, normally costing around £1500. Currently funding reduces this to £500 for those under 25 and £750 for those over.
In addition to this, if they are under 25 years old, we may be able to get an additional grant of £1500.
The Advanced training programme includes:
- Level 3 Diploma in Fence Supervision (NVQ)
- Supervisors Health and Safety training
- Leadership and Management training
- Gold FISS/CSCS card
There is a requirement to attend 5 days leadership and management training (at our residential centre) 1 day health and safety training, a days functional skills training. The remaining training and assessments will take place on site or at the business base.
One completion of the programme the candidate will gain the following:
- Level 3 Diploma in Fence Supervision (NVQ)
- Supervisors Health and safety Course (can be upgraded to SSSTS)
- Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management
- Level 2 Certificates in Functional Skills
- Gold FISS/CSCS (subject to passing the HS & E test)
