Funding for Fencing Training Courses – Lantra Approved If you’re thinking of a career in forestry or woodland management or want to build on your existing skills, Fencing and Construction Training can now offer a range of free practical courses to help you realise your ambition. FaCT is approved to deliver the Lantra Awards Fence and Gate Installation course. (options listed below) Our courses take place at our training centre in the Midlands or we can deliver the training at your venue if you have a group of candidates. and thanks to new Government funding the cost of the course will be provided to you entirely free of charge, as part of a new Forestry Training Fund. The government has reopened their grant funding offering 100% funding for eligible courses and expect grants to be in the range of £150 – £3,000. The government has committed to increasing tree-planting across the UK to 30,000 hectares a year by the end of Parliament to reach net zero emissions by 2050. The short, practical training courses will be paid for by a £700,000 allocation from the £750m Nature for Climate Fund, and will help grow the forestry sector so that we have enough people with the right skills to plan, plant, and manage new woodlands. |
Fence and Gate – Combination Course This theory and practical course covers a wide range of different fence types and gives the candidates the main information and skills they need to install fences and gates to a good standard. It includes all the courses listed below and packages them into one 5-day course. |
Foundation Course The foundation course is a 2-day classroom-based course covering, legislation, health and safety, quality and standards within the fencing industry. A good starting point for anyone wanting to start fencing. The add-on units listed below can be added on-to this course to cover your specific needs |
Post and Wire Course Stained wire fencing is the main fence type for agricultural and forestry fencing. The course 1-day add-on course covers how to install wire fencing correctly and safely. (Completion of the foundation course is a prerequisite) |
Post and Rail Course Post and rail fencing is very popular in many locations and this course includes wooden post and rail fencing as well as metal palisade fences, feather edge and other types of wood fencing. The 1-day add-on course gives you all you need to know. (Completion of the foundation course is a prerequisite) |
Post and Panel Course Panel fencing including timber and mesh panels installation is covered in this 1-day add-on course. Showing candidates how to install the post and panels correctly at the right line and level, how to step down on slopes and fit short bays. (Completion of the foundation course is a prerequisite) |
Gates and Styles Course Within most fences you will have to install a gate and this 1-day add-on course will train candidates how to install gate posts and gates correctly, dealing with issues like installing on slopes. Covers wood and metal gates as well as styles. (Completion of the foundation course is a prerequisite) |
