Abrasive wheels are an important tool within many fencers and construction workers tool kit. They are a very useful, tool, but can also be very dangerous if not used correctly. That is why all people who fit the disc or operation any type of grinder must be trained.

The Course

The course is appropriate for anyone who uses, fits or operates abrasive wheels. The training aims to reduce accidents by improving safe practice as well at meeting health and safety requirements.

The Content

The course combines theoretical and practical training. Our trainers deliver the theory and then asses the candidate in the practical part of the session.

The course covers:

  • Any important legislation and legislation changes.
  • Fitting storing and maintaining abrasive wheels.
  • Safe operations of an abrasive wheel
  • Hazards and Risk of using abrasive wheels
  • Pre start check, testing and inspection.
  • Duties of the employer and the employee.
  • PPE requirements.

The Abrasive Wheel Training is a half-day course.

The Certificate

The certification is valid for 3 years. The course will need to be retaken for you to stay certified. You can retake the course whenever you feel is necessary to remain safe and competent.
