Who needs the course?
The course is for anyone that could encounter asbestos in their work. For example:

- Plumbers
- Roofers
- Maintenance Workers
The course details how to avoid asbestos and not how to work with asbestos. Anyone who works with asbestos directly will need additional training.
Why?
Asbestos is an incredibly hazardous material that can seriously impact a person’s health if they are exposed to it. In 2015, there were a reported 222 deaths related to asbestosis which is caused by asbestos. As conditions related to asbestos exposure take years to surface the current statistics are related to exposure in prior years. The course aims to reduce the risk of encountering asbestos in work activities.
The Course Content
The course will cover the following areas:
- What asbestos is and how it can affect health.
- When asbestos can be encountered and what materials are high risk.
- The emergency procedure if asbestos is encountered.
