How long is the certification valid for?
After completion the certification is valid for five years. Therefore, a refresher programme is a requirement before the expiry date of the certification to remain certified. The refresher course can be provided by us all across the UK. The test, is required when refreshing a FISS CSCS or a CSCS card, and is hosted at our Birmingham and Manchester venues.
What is the SMSTS training refresher?
The refresher course is for delegates who have previously successfully passed the full programme. Due to previous completion of the full SMSTS course the refresher is shorter, lasting two days. The course includes an update of the health and safety knowledge, in addition to a thorough overview of any legislative changes. The refresher also incorporates an introduction of new topics and a progression of the topics covered in the original course. Our Manchester and Birmingham venues can provide the touchscreen facilities needed to complete the test, which is a requirement when taking the course as part of a FISS CSCS or CSCS application or renewal.
