First Aid at Work Birmingham – We provide regular First Aid at Work courses in Birmingham. However, if you’d prefer we can deliver the course at your site. Get in touch for details!

Who Needs the First Aid at Work Training?

The course is suitable for you if you are training as a first aider at work. It is one of the most detailed and in depth first aid courses that will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to become a capable and assured first aider. The course is designed for you if you want or require more extensive training than the Emergency First Aid at Work Course provides. It is aimed at higher risk industries and workplaces who’s staff have a variety of health issues.

Examples of high risk industries:

  • Construction
  • Engineering
  • Manufacturing
  • Warehouses

In lower risk industries the course that may be more suitable is the Emergency First Aid at Work.

Why?

The course is nationally recognised and meets the HSE requirements and guidelines. Accidents and sudden illnesses can happen and knowing how to respond can make a huge difference.

The Course Content

The course is a 3-day programme. Examples of some of the content covered in the course is listed below:

  • The role of the first aider
  • Communication and casualty care
  • Managing an emergency
  • Chest pains (including heart attack)
  • Eye injuries
  • Choking (adult)
  • Seizures (adult)
  • Fainting
  • Resuscitation (adult CPR)

The Certification

You will be certified for 3 years. To remain qualified, you will need to complete the course again. However, you can take a refresher whenever you feel it necessary.
