What is the difference between a FISS/CSCS card and CSCS only card?
The FISS/CSCS card is a card specifically for the fencing industry. It is still a CSCS card and recognised by the whole construction industry, but it is the card for everyone working in the fencing industry.
Why do I need as FISS/CSCS card?
The FISS/CSCS card is a requirement under British Standards 1722, the industry standard for fencing. Also all construction sites now require workers to hold the appropriate skills card.
But I have been fencing for a long time?
We know many of you have been in fencing for a long time, and are experienced and skilled in what you do. However, you are still required to hold the right card for the work you do, and to enables you to work on construction sites or for major contractors.
Are there different cards for different jobs?
There are six different levels (or colours) of FISS/CSCS card (just like the CSCS only card).
The four steps to get a card:
- Attend the appropriate health and safety training
- Pass the correct level of HS&E test
- Hold the correct qualification
- Apply for the card
